About the practitioner
Elizabeth Collins was a full time Emergency Medical Technician prior to obtaining her Masters degree from the Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture and Oriental medicine in Seneca Falls, New York. She is trained in both Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture. She has also completed an internship at the world renowned Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hangzhou, P.R. China. With experience in both Western and Eastern spheres, she is committed to bringing a well rounded, holistic approach to each patient encounter.
In addition to her master's degree, Dr. Collins has studied under Tom Bisio, L.Ac., and is certified in his course of Zheng Gu Tui Na, an advanced type of Chinese medical massage that promotes postural realignment through the manipulation of soft tissue. She is the first non-chiropractic professional to pursue training with the Motion Palpation Institue. She attended the EASTmedicine Seminar on the treatment of acute and chronic injury and pain management at the University of Westminster, London, United Kingdom and she is trained specifically in the treatment of both acute and chronic post-stroke symptoms which she studied under Claudia Citkovitz, PhD., L.Ac. In addtion, she has completed Oncology Grand Rounds in the Supportive Care of Cancer Patients with field specialists Dr. Frank Butler, DAOM and Kathy Taromina, DAOM. She is certified in both Mei Zen and Constitutional Facial Acupuncture systems. She has completed extensive hypnosis training with world renowned hypnotist Mike Mandel at the University of Toronto, Canada and she is completing her year-long program in Functional Medicine with the Kresser Institute.
