The body carries memory and emotion. Take a moment and really think of a time when you were feeling incredibly stressed - close your eyes and try and be there. Did your shoulders just tense up? Or maybe your abdomen? Now think of a time when you were incredibly happy. Close your eyes and breathe in the feeling of being relaxed and blissful. Smile a little bit as you do it. How does your body feel now?
Our bodies physically manifest our reactions to thoughts and emotions, but we're in charge of the whole shebang. If you've been going through a stressful time or are prone to anxiety, using this short meditation can help you to release and rejuvenate areas of your body where you carry that tension.
